“I really love this place. The rooms are great the location is good. Parking sucks! (Let me clarify this the hotel does offer the very best they can being in this location so please don't take that as a reason not to stay here) But overall it’s a great place you cannot beat the charm. I travel around 25-30 weeks a year between business and personal. This trip I forgot my comb and said well darn I need to comb my hair before I go down to dinner. Unfortunately the hotel didn’t have provisions for this and suggested a 3 block walk to the convenience store. This was a poor showing of customer service skills to me. I have had the unfortunate travel life of my luggage went to another city and when the hotel staff hands me the basic provisions in one second without thought I feel like they cared. Wish that came across today.”

“The Room is very unique. However the shower head had serious leaking issues. It basically sprayed the toilet and toilet paper and made the floor very dangerous. I felt like a maid after every shower. No mini fridge (major i convenience for a long stay). Otherwise I really enjoyed my stay. The location is perfect and the food at Juniper is Exquisite! Parking is tight but manageable. If you aren't picky it's perfect.”

“Very nice renovated hotel. Originally from the 1920s, nicely redone in all areas. Very nice rooms. Good mattress, clean bathrooms. Night shift reception person not very knowledgeable of local places for food. We got in after 7 pm . The day clerk was very good and directed us to some places for breakfast.”

“Location, location, location is the reason to stay here if you want to lodge in the middle of historic Lexington without paying at least $250+ per night. The hotel is very lovely and charming, and the rooms are quaint and in good condition with an impressive bathroom remodel. Little things, though, give its age, such as no outlets on either side of the bed for devices. The parking is a bit of a pain, but the drive to the lot is more of a big deal than the actual walk from the lot back to the hotel. It only seems far when you have to go around the block to get to the lot, but in reality, you're parking just behind The Gin itself. As for breakfast, I've come to see that unless a hotel has a restaurant that serves a full breakfast, the "breakfast included" is usually not worth it, anyway. The Gin does have the Juniper, which serves an amazing dinner (having eaten there for dinner twice, and a lovely veranda to eat on when the weather is warm.) There are plenty of great breakfast places within walking distance, and I highly recommend Seasons Cafe which is a five minute walk from the hotel. Overall, I would stay at this place again, because the location and the overall environment is much better than the collection of Holiday Inn-types that sit outside of town.”
